Bio:

Evan Leyden is a blues singer from the foothills of the Dandenong ranges in Melbourne. Evan has sang and played guitar since his teens, but after a break from music grew a love for older blues in his 30's. Evan played at the Basin music festival in 2018 and 2019, the PAVE festival in 2019, and have been regular performer at several RSL’s around the East of Melbourne and the Dandenong ranges. Evan sings accompanied by an acoustic guitar and is influenced by American pre war rural acoustic blues, folk, and Chicago blues. Inspired by artists such as Bill Broonzy, Muddy Waters, Tampa red, Arthur Crudup, Gary Davis, Mississippi John Hurt and many others. Blending a unique vocal and guitar sound, Evan brings these old songs to life attaching the unique barrel-house style of blues from the 1920’s through 1950’s.
