The Pilferers. Americana and folk style tunes presented by the acoustic guitars of Greg Foster and Greg Moseley, and the vocals and harmonies of Penny Cockle and Cindy Roseblade. The Pilferers formation is relatively new by name but they all have individual musical backstories stretching from UK, Europe, Asia and Australia and now finds them, bonded by their craft, in Melbourne. Ostensibly hiding in plain sight other than to an astute few up to this point, they pay respect to both indie and more widely known songwriters. Their repertoire draws upon tunes by Gillian Welch, Sarah Jarosz, The Secrets Sisters, Kasey Chambers, Eilen Jewell, and Grateful Dead, augmented with some older recognised classics that they just love to play. Their interpretations, the colourful musicianship, and the captivating vocals and harmonies of Penny and Cindy brings a vibe that draws you in.
